Simple steps to wind down during the workday
Juggling work, family, and a social life can sometimes feel like a circus act. At times, you may worry it could all come crashing down.
Before letting feelings of stress and anxiety overcome your emotions, Dr. Carlos Garcia, clinical psychologist and owner of Tampa Counseling and Wellness, has three easy steps to help you settle down.
If you start to feel like the workday is too much:
Take a break. Go outside for a quick walk to calm down.
Just breathe. Dr. Garcia says three deep breaths can go a long way. Breathe in calm and patience, and exhale tension.
Confide in a friend. Have a conversation with a close colleague or confidant about what has you overwhelmed. Sometimes a quick chat can help calm you down.
If you're still feeling stress, anxious, or depressed, call for help. It's OK not to be OK. There are resources available throughout the Tampa Bay area to help with mental health:

Superintendent Kevin K. Hendrick named 2022 Superintendent to Watch by the National School Public Relations Association
The award recognizes district leaders who have fewer than five years of experience as superintendents and who demonstrate dynamic, fast-paced leadership with strong communication at its core.
Nationwide, just 25 superintendents were selected for the honor based on innovative and effective use of technology to engage their school communities, and expansion of two-way communication and outreach efforts.

Hillsborough County PTA
Established in 1924 and organized under the authority of the Florida PTA, the Hillsborough County Council of PTA/PTSA is a team of volunteers dedicated to strengthening local PTAs and PTSAs in Hillsborough County, helping them to work more effectively on behalf of the children in their schools and communities.

Registration Will Open for this Year’s Pasco Pathways Expo
Join us on November 14 at River Ridge High School and/or November 17 at Wesley Chapel High School for the annual Pasco Pathways Expo. This is your chance to learn all about school choice and the numerous innovative programs available for Pasco students.
Times for both nights are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with informational sessions scheduled throughout the evening.
The expos will feature informational sessions that cover the general application process for school choice. In addition, many of Pasco County’s world-class schools will showcase their unique educational options like STEM and STEAM magnets, Cambridge Programme, International Baccalaureate, Digital Innovation, Career Pathways, and more.
