Did you know that Tampa is one of the country’s most popular destinations to live? A new Redfin report ranks Tampa at number 5, behind Miami but above Cape Coral, Orlando, and North Port-Sarasota. In all, 5 of the top 10 relocation destinations are in Florida.
Living in Florida is less expensive than many other states, partly from not having a state income tax. Plus, when you live in Florida you enjoy beautiful weather year-round, perfect for enjoying Lagoon living at MetroPlaces communities.
Redfin reports that the share of relocating homebuyers nationwide is up from 24.5% in the fourth quarter, 22.8% a year ago, and roughly 18% before the pandemic. Most searches for moving to Tampa come from home shoppers in New York.

Cooler weather means great times to settle in at a Hillsborough County park
Campsites at Hillsborough County parks provide a fresh-air remedy to the daily grind.
Whether your thing is disc golf or horseback riding, fishing or bird-watching, a tent or a fully-equipped RV, there's a patch of land waiting - if you arrive early.
The County's full-amenity campgrounds at E.G. Simmons, Edward Medard, and Lithia Springs conservation parks fill up on weekends when the weather is cool and pleasant. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There's also primitive camping, with no amenities, at Alderman's Ford and Upper Tampa Bay conservation parks, and Lake Rogers Park.
The fee is $24 per night for a site at the three full-amenity campgrounds. Seniors (age 55 and older) pay $18 per night.
Wondering what you'll do all day? There are many options. Fishing, for instance: There are campgrounds near freshwater springs, lakes, and rivers, and others close to saltwater canals an ...

Juggling work, family, and a social life can sometimes feel like a circus act. At times, you may worry it could all come crashing down.

Just breathe. Dr. Garcia says three deep breaths can go a long way. Breathe in calm and patience, and exhale tension.
Confide in a friend. Have a conversation with a close colleague or confidant about what has you overwhelmed. Sometimes a quick chat can help calm you down.
If you're still feeling stress, anxious, or depressed, call for help. It's OK not to be OK. There are resources available throughout the Tampa Bay area to help with mental health:

Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon first arrived in the Tampa Bay area in 1513, but the Spaniards focused their attention on settling eastern Florida and left the western areas alone. In 1824, only two months after the arrival of the first American settler, four companies of the U.S. Army established Fort Brooke to protect the strategic harbor at Tampa Bay.
Development of the Tampa Bay region began after the territory became part of the United States in 1845. In spite of the blockade and Federal occupation during the Civil War, the area grew steadily. Henry B. Plant's 1884 railroad extension to the Hillsborough River provided access to new areas, and he built lavish hotels along his rail line to attract visitors.
Tampa owes its commercial success to Tampa Bay and the Hillsborough River. When phosphates were discovered nearby in the late 1880s, the resulting mining and shipping industries prompted a boom of growth and wealth that lasted through the 1890s. Tampa'; ...
